🧾 Ingredients:

6 large eggs, separated 🥚

200 g (1 cup) granulated sugar

180 g (1½ cups) cake flour or sifted all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

100 ml (about 1/2 cup) vegetable oil

100 ml (about 1/2 cup) water

1 tsp vanilla extract
-
1/4 tsp cream of tartar or lemon juice (optional, for egg whites)

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions:
1. Prep the oven & pan

Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F).

Use an un-greased chiffon tube pan (with a central hole). Do not grease!
2. Mix dry ingredients

In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Whisk egg yolk batter

In another bowl, whisk egg yolks with half the sugar until light and pale.

Add oil, water, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until smooth and lump-free.
4. Beat egg whites
-
In a clean bowl, beat egg whites (with cream of tartar or lemon juice if using) until foamy.

Gradually add the rest of the sugar while beating to stiff peaks.
5. Combine batters
