📝 Ingredients:

For the choux pastry:

  • 125 ml water 💧

  • 125 ml whole milk 🥛

  • 100 g butter 🧈

  • A pinch of salt 🧂

  • 1 tablespoon sugar 🍚

  • 150 g all-purpose flour 🌾

  • 4 large eggs 🥚

For the pastry cream:

  • 500 ml whole milk 🥛

  • 4 egg yolks 🥚

  • 120 g sugar 🍚

  • 40 g cornstarch 🌽

  • 1 vanilla bean (or 1 tsp vanilla extract) 🌼

  • Lemon zest (optional) 🍋

For frying and decorating:

  • Vegetable oil for frying 🛢️

  • Powdered sugar for dusting ❄️

  • Candied cherries or Amarena cherries for garnish (optional) 🍒


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Prepare the choux pastry:

In a saucepan, bring the water, milk, butter, salt, and sugar to a boil. Once the butter has melted, add the flour all at once and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the dough comes together and pulls away from the sides. Cook for 1–2 minutes. 🔥

2. Cool and add eggs:

Transfer the dough to a bowl and let it cool slightly. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well until the dough becomes smooth and thick. 🥄
