How to take care of your vaginal flora?
It’s very simple: the less you do, the better.
The vagina cleans itself: it’s pointless (and even risky) to wash it from the inside. This could disrupt the balance of its protective flora.
The right actions to take:
- Clean only the external area (the vulva) with warm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap
- Avoid wipes, sprays or antiseptic products
- Wear breathable cotton underwear and change your panties every day
- Prefer clothing that is not too tight to avoid maceration
It’s a bit like good cheese: it needs its own bacteria to maintain its quality. The vagina, on the other hand, has its own good bacteria.
A body that speaks: knowing how to listen without being alarmed
The menstrual cycle influences the nature and quantity of vaginal discharge. It is heavier around ovulation and can also vary depending on emotions, diet, or certain medications. The most important thing is to know your body, note what’s normal, and spot what’s unusual.
